We think this is the last picture of Jim. It was taken at Mouse's graduation party and he looks awful but that's just because this is an "ugly." And he enjoyed taking "uglies" so it is appropriate in its own way, I guess.
James R. Finlayson, age 47, of Grand Blanc, died Monday, June 27, 2005 at Genesys Health Park.
The family was at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, to receive friends on Thursday, June 30, from 6-9 p.m. He was cremated and his ashes will be spread at his true home, Birch Point Beach.
James was born on August 12, 1957, the son of Kenneth John "Jack" and Frances Finlayson. He worked at Delphi for 21 years, currently as project manager of the Air Filter Group; prior to this he was an engineer for the catalytic converter group.
James played trombone with the Jump Street Swing Band and has performed with the Rock and Roll Engineers Band. Jim loved spending time with his family and friends, playing trombone, and driving his Miata. He will be sadly missed.
Surviving are his wife Karen S. Finlayson of Grand Blanc; two daughters, Valerie Anne Finlayson and Janet Ellen Finlayson; his parents, Jack and Fran Finlayson, of Sault Ste. Marie; one sister Anne (Bill) Courtois of Ann Arbor; mother- and father-in-law Hu and Joyce Shields of Essexville and Grand Blanc; his three dogs Sam, Ernie and Elfie; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many, many good friends.
