Mint Juleps
Ingredients:
- sugar syrup
- high quality Kentucky Bourbon
- fresh sprigs of mint (6-8 inches off the top of the plant)
- powdered sugar
- metal bar glass (or sturdy glasses)
- Sugar syrup
- lightly boil 1 part water to 2 part sugars (sugar in the raw is very good) for five minutes
- let it cool (dangerous when hot)
- combine one tablespoon sugar syrup and six medium size fresh mint leaves in bar glass and mix and bruise leaves with bar spoon to make a slurry
- fill cold/frozen drink glass 3/4 with crushed ice
- add 2-3 ounces Bourbon bar glass and stir the Bourbon-syrup-mint slurry
