Taking the trash trailer down the cheese route and crash landing on the Planet Ann Arbor

cheesemouseScrambled the moomincabin together this AM and got on the road at 10 or so. I woke feeling a bit of a quantum leap “stronger” and was able to help at least minimally with those cleaning and packing activities that I could do with my left hand*.

We took off with the Lyme Lounge and an extra passenger in the form of my cousin the Grand Poobah, wedged into the back seat of the Frog Hopper with Froggy2 and Green Guy and Turnstile and Stowaway and Tagalong and I hope I’m not forgetting anyone.

First stop — besides the Mackinac Bridge toll booth — a trailer exchange at the Uncly Uncle’s house in Gaylord. We dropped the Lyme Lounge off for the UU and his fam to use and picked up the old Trashmobile for various trash hauling trips to the dump and the Kiwanis Thrift Shop and wherever. Fun times.

Next stop? 12-year-old cheese and bathroom [er, not the cleanest bathroom I’ve ever been in either]. We took the cheese route because, once again, Google Maps showed a big backup south of Standish. Love the cheese route.

Little storms of text messaging punctuated our trip: Lizard and Mia Pet plotting a trip to A2 to take a river walk, cook dinner for six tonight, and a pot of spaghetti sauce for our refrigerator. And when we got here, she was even doing the load of cabin laundry I sent home with Mouse yesterday. Do I have good kids or what? (Remember, Mouse took care of me at the cabin.) I am blessed and very thankful but, as I said, I also made a bit of a quantum leap today. My energy level was higher and my right hand can suddenly do things it could not do the last two days*.

*Note to beach urchins: despite the improvement, I spent most of the day sitting in the Frog Hopper sucking down H2O and doing iPhone stuff with my left hand while holding my right hand up in the air. I have been good! I have not been over-using my right hand. Biggest accomplishment was collecting my hair into a ponytail. I have been cultivating an even more scarecrow-ish look than usual the last few days. I am sooooo bored. That’s a good thing, roight? Ssshhh. We will speak of this no more for now.

Love y’all, KW.

Glad you’ve been good! I know it must be hard for you, as active as you are. I would hate it myself!

  2. Sam Says:

Soooo glad to hear you’re feeling more KW-ish-ness; recovery can be…unexpectedly slow.

  3. Pooh Says:

Is Turnstile the seal or the (non-scurry) mouse in the pink dress? One of these wasn’t on your list, but that’s okay, because they were listening to all the talk very quietly.
